The Buyer's Broker Agreement
A PartnershipNot a Blood Contract
Contracts can feel intimidating. This one is important, but it's not a blood contract. It's a partnership.
Before we start touring homes together, we'll sign a buyer's broker agreement. In Texas, a written agreement is required before an agent can show you homes. It simply says that we'll work together for a set period of time toward one goal: getting you home.
It protects all of us. For you, it spells out up front exactly how I'm paid, so you're protected from unnecessary fees later on. For me, it protects the work I put in. Agents have always worked for free until closing day, and that's still true today, but this agreement gives some protection for the time and expertise I pour into your search.
Most of all, it means we've chosen each other. I only want to work with people who want to work with me, people who share the same goal, the same values, and a mutual respect for each other's time and expertise.
